Community National Bank marks 10th anniversary

Community National Bank marked an important milestone last week when it celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The bank – with offices in both Jefferson and Hamblen counties – continues its mission as a financial institution focused on customer service, with local decision-making.

“Our slogan – ‘where you belong’ – epitomizes what we’re trying to do here,” said Dan Redding, Vice-president and Branch Manager in Jefferson City. “We want to get to know our customers, and help them with their financial needs.”

Community National officially opened in April of 2003, with 700 stockholders and locations at 225 West First North Street in Morristown and 156 East Broadway in Jefferson City. The bank has since opened a branch on the west side of Morristown, at 2640 West Andrew Johnson Highway.

The executive management team of Community National has a long record of service to their respective communities. Chairman and CEO Samuel F. Grigsby, President Charles A. Hughes, Chief Financial Officer Darwin K. Kilday, and Executive Vice-President Thomas D. Rush are all active in their churches, as well as many non-profit organizations in the Lakeway Area.

Redding joined the bank eight years ago, beginning in operations and transitioning from loan officer into his current role as Vice-President and Branch Manager.

Completing the friendly staff are Tina Wells, Customer Service Representative, and tellers Teresa Branner, Karen Rice and Michelle Grizzle.

Jefferson City’s original staff, consisting of Regional President Ed Stiner, Branch Manager Debbie Estes and Customer Service Representative Molly Larrance, served the local branch for seven years, until Stiner was elected Jefferson County’s Register of Deeds in 2010. Estes and Larrance now work in the County Courhouse.

Though Community National is a smaller local bank, Redding said it works hard to stay competitive with larger regional banks in terms of service and technology.

“We offer a lot of technology,” he said, including online and mobile banking, and remote deposite capture which allows businesses to scan in checks and deposit them without ever having to go to the bank. Community National also offers a lot of services geared toward small businesses, Redding added.

Office hours in Jefferson City are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Drive-through service begins 30 minutes earlier each day. The bank’s web site can be found at cnbla.com .
