MARCH IN SUPPORT OF VETERANS

Ruck: verb, to move with a purpose while carrying a weighted backpack. The key to ruck marching is to do it with a purpose. Many veteran's have ruck marched during combat mission, and even more marched in support of combat operations. You may want to ruck march for a father, a mother, a brother, a sister, or a son or daughter on active duty or recently discharged from the service. Whatever the reason may be that you choose to ruch march, other proud Americans welcome you to join us on Memorial Day 2016 for the second annual Ruck March for Veterans.

Join us in this march to remember those in the surrounding area who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while defending our great country. Pack your ruck sack as heavy or as light as you wish, and come out to support local veterans.

Registration for the event is $10.00 per person. To register and pay, please visit www.memorialdayruckmarch.com or by cash, check, or money order on the day of the event.

All proceeds will be donated to local VFW Post 3380 in Dandridge.

Carrying a rucksack/backpack or a flag is recommended but is not mandatory for participation.

Water will be provided along the route and complimentary hot dogs will be provided at the end point of the march.

Memorial Day is a time of reflection and rememberance to all those brave men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. What better way to commerate their selfless sacrifice. You'll be in good company with friends, past and present service members, safety and emergency personnel, and leaders of Jefferson and surrounding counties.
