This is the ‘Get Local: A Local Business Fair’ which takes place during
Welcome Week each year. It will be held in the Grand Hall of the Maddox
Student Activities Center. A table and two chairs will be provided to
participating businesses. There will be access to electrical outlets, if
needed. Space will be limited. Cancelation is therefore required 48 hour
in advance. (Though there is no participation fee, any no shows will be
assessed a cancellation fee prior to participating in any future events.
Setup is at 11:00 a.m. Take-down will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.

Students who improve reading skills will be able to start college-level courses without taking a learning support reading course. GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Limited tickets remain for Australian duo, Air Supply, who take the NPAC stage on Saturday, September 16th at 7:30 p.m. Air Supply, featuring singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock, became international stars in the 1980s with their soft-rock sounds. The trademark sound of Hitchcock’s soaring tenor voice and Russell’s simple yet majestic songs created a unique sound that would forever be known as Air Supply. Hits including "Lost in Love," "All Out of Love" and "Every Woman in the World" helped the duo achieve multi-platinum success.
Air Supply’s popularity skyrocketed with the release of their album “Lost in Love,” which sold more than two million copies. Together since 1956, The Four Tops hail as one of Motown’s most consistent hit-makers and longest-lived original lineups. The Four Tops began their hit streak with “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964 and over the next eight years they made almost 30 appearances on the charts. The group’s 1965 hits included “Ask the Lonely,” “Same Old Song,” and “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” which climbed to #1. “Reach Out I’ll Be There” hit the top of the pop chart in October 1966 and the quartet followed up with “Standing in the Shadows of Love” in 1967.

The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. Original member Duke Fakir accepted the 2009 Lifetime Achievement award from the Grammy® Foundation on behalf of The Four Tops.

The Town of White Pine will be hosting their annual fall festival, Pine Fest, on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Downtown White Pine.

The annual festival includes a history museum showcasing the storied history of White Pine, crafts, vendors, entertainment, car show and dog show as well as kids activities and lots of great food.

The White Pine Volunteer Fire Department will be selling hamburgers and hotdogs.

This year's event will kickoff with a Friday Night Sock Hop in downtown on Friday, September 22nd at 7:00 p.m.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The internationally-acclaimed hit theater show The Simon & Garfunkel Story will play at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center on September 29th at 7:30 PM on its tour of more than 45 U.S. and Canadian cities from coast to coast. The immersive concert-style theater show chronicles the amazing journey shared by the folk-rock duo, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. It tells the story from their humble beginnings as Tom & Jerry to their incredible success as one of the best-selling music groups of the ‘60s to their dramatic split in 1970. It culminates with the famous “The Concert in Central Park” reunion in 1981 with more than half a million fans in attendance.

Using huge projection photos and original film footage, this 50th Anniversary celebration also features a full live band performing all of their hits, including “Mrs. Robinson” (featured in the 1967 film The Graduate), “Cecilia,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound,” and many more. With more than 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel’s perfect harmonies and songs that poignantly captured the times made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos of all time. Over the years, they won 10 Grammy® Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1977, their Bridge Over Troubled Water album was nominated at the 1977 Brit Awards for Best International Album. In 2003, Simon and Garfunkel were awarded a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award and the following year saw their “The Sound of Silence” awarded a Grammy® Hall of Fame Award.

Don’t miss The Simon & Garfunkel Story, a show that has been seen by more than a quarter-million people throughout the U.K. and Europe, at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center Friday, September 29th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $35 for orchestra level seating, $30 for mezzanine seating and $25 for balcony seats. The Scots-Irish Festival is an old-time Main Street Music Festival
in Historic Downtown Dandridge, on the shores of Loch Douglas
in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, honoring the town’s
earliest settlers in 1783.

The festival offers great family fun with entertainers, bands,
pipes & drums, vendors, food and a kid’s area.

Entertainment includes featured bands such as the Celtic
Martins, Lonestar Stout and Thistledown Tinkers as well as a
Pipe & Drum Band Playoff Challenge from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00
p.m.

Demonstration performers will also be available in athletics,
highlands and Irish stepdance.
