Appalachian Outreach Ministry will be hosting the 10th Annual Golf Classic in memory of Dr. Tom Cronan. The tournament will be a four-person scramble format. The four members will compete as a team for the lowest score. Each member will tee off and the best shot of the four is selected as the location for each member's next shot. Process will be followed for each shot until the hole is completed. Team will record one (1) score and move to the next hole.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place flights. Additional prizes will be awarded for Closest-to-the-Pin and Longest Drive.

Appalachian Outreach Ministry is a povery relief ministry in partnership with the community. They provide shelter for the homeless (Samaritan House), a food pantry for the hungry, clothing ministry, educational programs and home repairs for those living in substandard conditions. Appalachian Outreach has been a vital part of the community for over 30 years.

Throughout his 19 years of service with Carson-Newman University, Dr. Tom Cronan blessed this ministry with his support and friendship. Dr. Tom Cronan was a professor of Health, Physical Education and Sport Science for Carson-Newman University.

Habitat for Humanity brings together people with resources and people in need to build simple, decent, affordable houses. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit. Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1987 and has built 26 houses in the community.
