Come join in for the "March Against Alsohol and other Drugs"!
Several organizations, churches, Jefferson County substance Abuse Coalition and Rescue 180 are standing behind this event. LMU professor, Coach Chris Jones, is spearheading this event. "It is time we all come together as a community to say, 'No' to drugs," says Jones. There are a couple of meeting points for the march including, Dandrige Baptist Church and Jefferson City Community Center. Everyone will meet at 2:00 p.m. and simultaneously march to Jefferson County High School. When the march is over there will be a rally at JCHS with several key speakers.
Rescue 180 is one of the organizations promoting this event. The Coalition has been in action for three years and is an Action Partner with the Quality of Life Foundation and the "Building a Better Future" initiative sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, as well as contracted with the Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services and the Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
